- Does the State of Arizona
have reciprocity?
No. Regardless of where an applicant is licensed he must first be able to meet all required Arizona State requirements.
- How can I expedite the
process required by Arizona to become licensed?
All licensees and registrants are required to submit fingerprint cards and the $24.00 charge for submission to the Department of Public Safety. The clearance process could take up to 90 days. Therefore, the submission of the fingerprint card and fee in a timely manner will expedite the process.
- I am licensed in Arizona,
how long do I have to notify the State Boards Office of a change in
employment?
If you are licensed as a Funeral Director or Embalmer in Arizona you must notify the board in writing within 10 business days after a change in employment. The notice shall include the names of the former and the new establishment. If you are licensed in Arizona as the Responsible Funeral Director you have 5 business days for written notification.
An Intern, Embalmers Assistant and Cremationist shall notify the board Within 10 business days.

Funeral Directors and Embalmers regulate Cemeteries?
No, cemeteries are under the jurisdiction of the Department of Real Estate and the board has no regulatory responsibilities regarding this area. Crematories are another matter which are under the jurisdiction of the Board and are regulated by the funeral board.
- Does the Board of Funeral
Directors and Embalmers regulate tissue banks and donor organizations?
No, this oversight falls within the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
